Oathbound Paladin

General OP TANK (last change: 17. Sept 2017)

This build is in my opinion the best and most useful OP tank build for pve content the build works perfect for a low item level and is even better the more power and hitpoints you have.

Priority Nr. 1 Tanking (surviving/protecting/aggroing)
Bonding Oath and templars wrath are filling your hitpoints bar with temporary hitpoints. So the more base hitpoints you have the more temporary hitpoints you get. This saves your survivability:
To keep the aggro of all, bonding oath has the effect of forcing targets to attack you. (BO is broken and does not pull all aggro any time “mod 12”)

Priority Nr. 2 Buff/debuff
The pala shares his power, boosts recharge speed and movement. This makes the whole party fast and strong. Use the right weapon enchantment and active artefact to weaker your targets.

Priority Nr. 3 DPS
as you shouldn’t skill on crit or Armor pen get the owlbear cub what increases your dmg when you have a low crit build. Also a debuffing companion helps allot for solo content and pve.

RULE NR.1

Do not use Relentless Avenger in a party!!! Kicking adds away is the worst thing to do in PVE. You want to keep the adds together that the aoe powers of the dps reaches all adds at the same time.

Equipment:
Focus on Power and hitpoints = Radiant enchantments on offence and defence slots.
Armor enchantment = Negation as high as possible
Weapon enchantment => debuffing => 1. Frost 2. plague fire 3. Terror
Artefact set: Cloak of the protector + Band of constitution + (Lantern/water/book) 1. Lantern 2. Water 3. Book => The lantern can also be used as active debuff artefact. I decided for the banner as active so I took the water of elah’zad for the stats. The set gives +4 constitutions from the belt +500 defence and +10’000 Hit points.

Powers:
as Daily for offensive Devine judgement as protection Devine protector (only on 5 members) / shield of faith to boost the healings goes on all allies not only on party. So that’s better for MSVA/TIAMAT/EDEMO

As class feature use aura of courage and aura of wisdom. Aura of courage Is the best dps buff the pala can give round 40% of all the dmg done in a dungeon is made by aura of courage. Aura of wisdom is a recharge speed buff where your allies can cast their encounter powers faster. If yor party is dying frequently, you can switch aura of protection for aura of wisdom.
For solo content use Aura of solitude instead of aura of wisdom

At-wills Valorous strike and radiant strike. Use both either gives you +5% dmg resistance for a while so a stack of 10% dmg resistance.

Encounter Powers, Bonding oath for aggro and blue temporary hitpoints, templars wrath for stun, dmg and yellow temporary hitpoints. Bane as single target debuff 3x =30% more dmg on that marked target. Bane is a “must use” in boss fights. For more defence circle of power instead of bane. For dps when solo Burning light.
Full offensive in dungeons t1/t2 dungeons I replace templars wrath with burning light but stay with bane and bonding oath. (only a experienced setup)

Feats:

The heroic feats are based on maximizing your hitpoints, recharging your daily fast and your devine call fast.

Justice: (read the tooltip youself)

The only point to discuss is prisem: The positive thing with allot of daily castings you release massive amounts of healings. In combination with shield of faith, you and the allies get instant healed up and when you aren’t 1 shot, then you stay healed up for the time prism takes. The contra is, that it counts as a lagging power. Specially in big parties like Tiamat/msva/edemo it can causing lags. I will not switch back from that power, the healings are to strong and even with a bit lags you stay alive there for. In addition to that, its not proven that prism is a lag power. The game itself is laggy as hell anyway.

Light:

Aura gifts is the point where you share 25% of your power. This buff is massive and shuld be used by any paladin in this game. This is the reson to skill on full power in the equipment. The more base power you have, the more you will share to your allies

Boons: selfexplained

Companions:

As summond companion you shuld definitely use a debuffing companion. I was lucky and dropped the harper bard in FBI. Under this link you find a list of all debuffing powers, artefacts and also companions. Check out the companions there. The dancing shield is also a very cheap recommendation: http://janne.coreside.com/info-links/sheet-debuff/1

The other 4 are more or less as liked. I recommend for your own dps to get the owlbear cub, the rust monster as dmg debuff, the jagged dancing blade as an additional defence debuff. I chose the cockatrice for more stun but there are many other good solutions.

Insignas: self explained

As long as I don’t have a legendary mount I use these boons.

This build is an amazing supporter build when you can play it right, you will be able to tank all dungeons and buff everyones ars up to deal more dmg and recharge their encounter powers amazingly fast.
